The short version: we don't have accounts, we don't sell your data, and analytics only run if you accept cookies.

What we collect
Soft Compare is a public, read-only site — there are no user accounts and no forms that ask for personal information. The only data we collect is anonymous, aggregate usage statistics through Google Analytics, and only after you consent.
Cookies
We use two kinds of cookies:
- Essential: a session cookie needed for the site to work. It stores no personal data and is never used for tracking.
- Analytics (optional): set by Google Analytics to measure page views and traffic sources. These load only if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies or scripts are loaded at all.
Google Analytics
When enabled, Google Analytics collects anonymised information such as the pages you view, your approximate region, and the type of device and browser you use. IP addresses are anonymised and we do not use this data to identify you personally. See Google's Privacy Policy for how they process it.
Your choices
You decide whether analytics run. To change your mind after choosing, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the cookie banner will appear again. You can also block cookies entirely in your browser — the site will still work.
Data sharing
We don't sell, rent, or trade your data. The only third party that receives usage data is Google, and only for the analytics described above.
